Wink - Costa Rica Neobank
Wink was Costa Rica’s first neobank, launched in 2018 as a 100% digital financial platform. As the UX Design Lead, I played a crucial role in expanding the app’s functionality, including real-time expense tracking, savings, debit card, PayPal integration, bill payments, and SINPE money transfers.
Challenge
The main challenge was that this was an emerging market at the moment, every single step of the way had to solve different problems to create this new infrastructure and design, over a legacy engine such as SINPE and Interbanking software. The user experience was also a new element where we leveraged top competitors from more developed market, however it was necessary to update those needs to the Regional reality of Costa Rica and adjust those to everyday obstacles for our users. Ideating, conceptualizing, designing and implementing was all done by a 10 people team that was very eager to innovate but also had to be consistent and align.
Solution
We deliver a market ready Neobank App under the Coopenae umbrella. This app allowed you to load your wallet connected to your main accounts from other banks, and from your wallet you cound send money P2P to people in the same environment or SINPE Móvil. Also you could make Service Payments, create saving wallets, and transfer money from PayPal, all of this created a complete new and easier experience for tech sacy finantial enthusiasts.
Result
Till this day Wink is in constante growth and integrating more with the traditional Banking environment, becoming the easy way to manage your finances day by day.
